Hemkund Sahib or Sri Hemkunt Sahib Ji is a holy shrine for followers of the Sikh religion. Located on the bank of the Hemkund Lake, the holy place is 4329m above sea level. 3) Hemkund Sahib can be visited by trekking for the picturesque Valley of Flowers. When visiting the beautiful valley, many trekkers prefer to visit Hemkund Sahib to get blessings of the Lord.
4) Since the 1800s, Sikhs have been visiting Hemkund Sahib to pray at the lake. It was in the 1900s that the Gurudwara was built. Sant Baba Harnaam Singh ji constructed the Gurudwara at Hemkund Sahib in 1903.
5) The place is covered by snow during winter and is closed. It is open only from May to October.
